Welcome to Dailwood -

dali parton
Your playa playpen of surreallity a la Salvador Dali!  Join us and interact with Dali's visionary art in full transcendental dimensionality of space and time - forget admiring art on the printed page... on the playa we'll invite you to step into your favorite works and become art.  But soon you will be asking about the other dollies -  sheep, parton, burningman...

Daliwood - where the inspired (re)creations of Catalonia's favorite egoist son shall help you to confront your own Hopes & Fears for the Future: learn to let the pangs of the Past melt away like soft watches as you fully embrace the Present as mere persistence of memory.

Daliwood - proud to camp with Asylum Village for BM '06 where our namesake's legendary pride resplendent shall remind us of and humble us to the crazy wisdom gained from lessons learned at the hand of this pervasive yet oft overlooked deadly sin. But in death the seeds of rebirth may be found; ashes to ashes, (playa) dust to (playa) dust...

Daliwood - a larva's dildo, a lad viral sod, diva lard also... lad lad savior!

The physical signature of Daliwood on the BRC skyline will be modest - we will feature a large geodisic dome (steel) which will be anchored safely with covered rebar in line with playa best practices. Daliwood will also feature our art car, Discomo. Our public play area may also include Daliwood's surreal swingset, lookout tower of lucidity and other self-assembled and secured structures for the enjoyment of all. Safety precautions will be taken to avoid injuries during construction, play and strike of all camp infrastructure.

THE CLEANUP PLAN

Dali is a San Francisco based camp with veterans who are both eco-friendly and know what not to bring to the playa.

We will not have a lot of moop producing items like individually wrapped food, disposable cups, or throwaway gifts. While we have no plans for fire within our camp, we repack a lot of things in paper and cardboard- leaving plastic and other synthetics in the trash at home.  We keep a central trash area in our kitchen truck and store full bags under the truck.
For the most part our camp loads in and out of our (generally half full) truck straight from storage onto the playa.  Over the years our gear has been winnowed down to the essentials.   We bring a great collection of rebar, work gloves, hammers, vise grips, rope, and the general essentials of safe playa construction.

In past years we loaded our kitchen straight from an industrial kitchen where we packed our food in bulk.  The menu has evolved into what the body craves on the playa - Simple compact foods that do not easily go off.  Everyone manages their own cutlery and we have nets to filter grey water along with ample 5 gal. buckets to lock in flavor during the week.  We build an 8x16 evaporation pool next to our kitchen truck and under our shower hanger on the sunny side of the truck.

We will setup and pack up as a group and incorporate our camp sweeping ritual into the last meal on the day of the temple burn.  Each member of the camp is committed to keeping our community space clean throughout the week and taking what is left in camp out with us in our vehicles.   Since our camp is SF based we have access to our office dumpsters and recycling. We are a community dedicated to making our camp a surreal experience – so much so that there will be no evidence that it ever happened.
