psyche we looked into the

This year discomo is exploring the
global impact of driving and the larger issue of carbon
emissions. As a pedestrian new yorker driving is an exciting
luxury, but we all must come to terms with the true cost of
driving.
|

Not all Carbon
offsets are created equal:
We have been doing alot of heavy research into carbon offsets and the varying techniques. In additon to offsetting discomo's annual carbon footprint, we are going to have educational materials for our riders in the form of reading cards and challenging quotes. for example on the gas tank it will say "20 lbs. of C02 per gallon." We will tow around a large ball (about half the size of a refidgerator) the size of a pound of CO2 - what discomo emits every mile she drives. For those whose interest is piqued they will be able to learn about how to truly offset carbon and how to measure different vendors in this unregulated and wild west style market. |

Smart consumption:
Discomo will share solar power with her camp "Astral Photo Project" All of her lighting is efficient EL and LED and can store solar energy in 2 deep cycle batteries embedded in her seats. Our driving style will be |

The
reality
A satelite in close orbit to the flow. finding our own mix surfing the inner playa sound waves delicously bouncing off the disc. Four bikes hanging from the disc rolling to the deep playa in search of magic. this is just the beginning. |

Hope
and Fear
discomo is the result of a fearless plunge into the idea of something that could be. Decisions and goals were based in hope, optimisim and dreams. It is of a young boundless energy that knows no limits and (naively?) not scared of the larger world. Since she was not created out of fear her energy helps infuse a sense of optimisim, possibility, and realized dreams wherever she goes. |
